CAVE – Speaker Verification in Banking and Telecommunications
Banks, amongst other businesses, will soon be under a great deal of pressure to improve the range and friendliness of their telephone-based services without compromising transaction security. Currently, automatic telephone services authenticate callers using a PIN-code and consequently do not offer a sufficient level of security for significant transactions; more sophisticated services, which d...

This paper summarizes the main results from the Speaker Veriication (SV) research pursued so far in the CAVE project. Diierent state-of-the art SV algorithms were implemented in a common HMM framework and compared on two databases : YOHO (of-ce environment speech) and SESP (telephone speech). This paper is concerned with the diierent design issues for LR-HMM-based SV algorithms which emerged fr...
متن کاملA comparison of a priori threshold setting procedures for speaker verification in the CAVE project
The issue of a priori threshold setting in speaker veri-cation is a key problem for eld applications. In the context of the CAVE project, we compared several methods for estimating speaker-independent and speaker-dependent decision thresholds. Relevant parameters are estimated from development data only, i.e. without resorting to additional client data. The various approaches are tested on the ...

The CAVE project aims at implementing and assessing two demonstration systems that are using speaker verification (SV) technology. In order to provide scientific grounds for the technological choices that are made for building these demonstrators a large number of available SV techniques have been investigated. The SV techniques have been evaluated using the YOHO and SESP databases and the resu...
